Remembering Tanya Lee Pedroni
To the sadness and heartache of her family and friends, Tanya Pedroni passed away on August 22, 2020, surrounded by her family, after struggling with an internal infection that took her life. Together we mourn the loss of Tanya, a kind and caring soul.
Tanya Lee Schantol was born on July 11, 1944, in San Francisco, California. She was the daughter of Cecille Ellis and Arlan Schantol. She had one sibling, her older sister Mickel, with whom she admired and adored. Tanya attended Galileo High School, graduating on January 31, 1962. On July 2, 1966, she married John Pedroni in an evening ceremony at Saint Brigid’s Church in San Francisco. Together they raised two children, Charmagne and Craig. Tanya was a generous and loving grandparent to Grant (19), Madison (17), and Alyssa (5).
Tanya spent her early childhood summers in Oregon with her grandparents and sister. After graduating from high school, she went on to become a secretary, interior designer, office manager, and homemaker.
In 1974, Tanya and John moved the family to Lafayette, California. She was a devoted mother, serving as a scout leader, room parent, and volunteer. In her 40s she was an avid runner and frequently would participate in 5k runs. She had a passion for rabbits, even though she was fiercely allergic to them. She loved all animals and children. She was an incredibly talented quilter and enjoyed her quilting group immensely. Among her many talents, she was an amazing cook, an avid gardener, and always enjoyed fashion- ever the city girl. She was fiercely loyal, forging a life full of generosity, love, and caring for all those around her.
The loss of Tanya has left an empty space in our hearts, one which will never be filled. We will never forget her contagious smile and her limitless kindness. We hope and believe that her life will continue to shine through those who are left behind.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation for the love and support you have shown our family during our time of loss. We have lost a wife, a mother, a friend. Tanya will be deeply missed by all those who have known and loved her. We ask that you remember her through your smiles and laughter, as she was and will always be found in the caring words you speak, the warm hugs you give, and the kindness your share with others.
